The Holyoake IBD-FS fire damper is a curtain-type fire damper for rectangular ductwork. It preserves the fire integrity of building compartments while allowing normal air distribution system operation, and is compliant with the New Zealand Building Code Clause C3 and the National Construction Code of Australia.
The IBD-FS uses interlocking galvanised steel blades with stainless steel side seals, housed in a galvanised steel guide channel frame. This compact curtain design minimises the installation footprint compared to multi-blade damper designs — particularly suited where wall penetration depth is limited.
IBD-FS Fire Rating and Compliance
IBD-FS fire dampers have been tested in accordance with AS 1530.4:2014, meeting the leakage integrity requirements of AS 1682.1:2015. In fire rating tests, the IBD-FS demonstrated exceptional integrity for over four hours, achieving a Fire Resistance Rating (FRR) of –/240/–.
Leakage performance meets the ISO 10294-1 ‘E’ Classification (integrity-rated). The IBD-FS is compliant with the Australian National Construction Code and the NZ Building Code Clause C3.
- Tested to AS 1530.4:2014 — four-hour fire rating
- Leakage classification: ISO 10294-1 ‘E’ (integrity rated)
- FRL/FRR: –/240/– for floor and wall applications
Sizes and Configuration
- Single sections: up to 1,200mm (W) × 1,200mm (H)
- Multiple sections: up to 3,600mm (W) × 2,400mm (H) in a 3×2 configuration
- Multiple ducted connections available in multi-section configuration
- Installation in horizontal or vertical plane (specify at time of ordering)
- Airflow and fire rated from either direction when installed in a wall
- Electro-thermal resettable links available for remote triggering
- Available in stainless steel
Applications
The IBD-FS is suited to commercial and institutional building projects where a compact fire damper is required at rectangular duct penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors. Typical applications include:
- Rectangular supply and return duct penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors
- Installations where minimal wall penetration depth is available
- Applications requiring fire duty only (without smoke control actuator)
- Large-opening applications — multi-section configurations up to 3,600mm wide
